A ground breaking ceremony for a new almond processing facility owned by California Custom Processing (CCP) will be held on Thursday, November 10th at 11AM.   The company is locally owned and operated by Grant Willits and Sonya Trevino who collectively have over 75 years of experience in the fruit and nut processing industry. The new facility will be located on 3211 Aviation Drive in Madera, adjacent to the Madera County Sheriff Headquarters. Span Construction and Engineering will be the general contractor of the $10 million, 83,000 square foot structure located on approximately 8.5 acres. The completion date is estimated to be March 2017. The new facility will allow CCP to meet the growing demand for its nut processing services, provide the highest level of food safety certifications, increase efficiencies and deliver exceptional value to its customers. CCP has 40 employees, with the new facility, in full operation, the company anticipates doubling its staff.

CCP was founded in 2012 and establish itself as the Central Valley’s premier processor of blanched whole and manufactured almonds. The company provides a wide range of custom blanching, roasting, drying, slicing and other functions. The company is a certified organic processor.  Earlier this year, CCP completed installation of a new $1M cool steam pasteurization line that allows the company to naturally pasteurize 10,000 lbs./hour of almonds and other nuts.

The public is invited to attend the event. The celebration will be held at the site located on 3211 Aviation Drive, Madera CA 93637.
