The Madera County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday celebrating the remodel and expansion of its newly remodeled lab facility.

The ceremony highlighted the facility’s expanded laboratory and modernized clinic spaces. The upgrades include advanced molecular detection technology designed to improve the department’s response to public health needs.

Officials said the improvements will help the department respond more quickly to public health threats while expanding local testing and treatment capabilities. The remodel also included modernized clinical spaces designed to support more efficient, high-quality care.

“We are excited to welcome the community to our newly upgraded facility,” said Madera County Department of Public Health Director Sara Bosse. “This project will expand our capacity to detect and treat illnesses for decades to come and reflects Madera County’s commitment to meeting the community’s health needs through quality, timely care.”

Following the ceremony, media was invited to tour the upgraded clinic and lab facilities, providing an inside look at the new technology and tools supporting public health efforts in the county.

The project received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) through supplemental COVID-19 funding aimed at expanding disease detection and advanced lab testing capabilities.
