The Madera County Department of Social Services is currently recruiting public and private agencies in Madera County to participate in the CalWorks Employment Program (ESE).
The Madera County Department of Social Services has launched a new subsidized employment program. This program reimburses employers for the wages of newly hired employees from our program at varying levels during the first six months of employment. Once our agency signs a completed application with interested employers, after a successful applicant match, the wage subsidy program can commence as follows:
Under this agreement, the Madera County Department of Social Services (DSS) will reimburse Employer for wages paid to eligible and approved Employees as described below. a. DSS will reimburse employer:
Note: DSS will reimburse wages ONLY up to $25 an hour. Wages paid in excess of $25 an hour are the sole responsibility of the employer.
Employer is expected to retain Employee(s) as a fully unsubsidized employee(s) once the reimbursement period ends.
Employees MUST work a minimum of 20 hours a week to be eligible for reimbursement.
